What type of telephone service is acceptable?
We require agents to use a Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) that uses copper wire to the home. Alpine Access does not allow agents to use VoIP telephone service that transports calls over any public network as it has potential quality and security issues that are not encountered with POTS. Cable services that are delivered to the home without accessing a public network are acceptable.All of your training will be done online or over the phone similar to online college courses. The training will be either self-paced/independent or lead by a trainer (or a combination of both).

How often do you offer classes?
Class offerings vary by client and by the number of agents we are training at any given time. Resume Layout - Which Style?

When choosing a layout for your resume, it is important that you keep in mind that it is the resume that can get you the interview. It can help get you in the door, but it cannot get the job for you. Some people feel that graphics and colorful fonts can get attention and make the resume stand out. There’s a good chance it will, but not always in a good way. The best resume layout is clean and concise and it is easy to read. Remember, the person handling the resume may have to read twenty or more a day, and their job may be to weed unacceptable people. If your resume layout is confusing, or it the resume is too loud or unprofessional, it will probably go in the reject pile. Knowing how to form a good resume layout is the key.

The objective of choosing a good resume layout and producing a good resume is that you want to capture the reader’s interest. You need them to know that you are qualified enough and interesting enough to get the interview. And, as always, once you get their attention, it is up to you to get an offer from them. But it all starts with the layout of your resume, so you need to take it very seriously.

When choosing an effective layout for your resume, you can go online and choose from many. Remember, you do not have to stick with a particular style. I don’t know about how your life has been going since the economic slowdown. A lot of people have lost their jobs, homes, and pensions. I wasn’t spared the hardships then the maple syrup plant I had been working at was shut down and I was laid off. It was disappointing, and I struggled to get the will to go find a new job, but then I was reminded about how many people are worse off. Anyway ever since I lost my job I’ve been searching and trying to find something to fill the gap. The other day I figured I’d consult the Internet and searched “video games for sale” into google. To tell you the truth I didn’t figure a lot of results would come up, but I suppose with so many people looking there should be people trying to meet their demands.

The first job that caught my eye was one that was looking for people to sell stock trading software. Regrettably the requirements were to onerous for someone like me. They wanted someone with past experience installing floors and I definitely don’t have that. Heck I haven’t even lifted a hammer in like 10 years. Anyway I moved on from that search and continued to look over the sites that were popping up in the search results.

After that disappointment I thought the smarter plan would be to look for jobs I have done before. I starting looking for something in mid-management or maybe even an office assistant job. There surprisingly were a lot of those listed on almost every site I looked at. When I first started that search I thought that jobs would be in high demand and thus there would be few of them available. I did some investigation into the jobs and they were paying a little less than I had hoped (around $13/hours for most) but hey, work is work.

I sent out applications to around 15 of the places I found on the internet and waited to hear back from them. I took almost a month, and I was really worried by that point, but finally I heard back from 3 places. I was pumped. I scheduled interviews and prepared myself to go in and come off as a good employee. Sadly my first job interview didn’t the way I had hoped it would. I shrugged it off and chalked it up to the fact that I haven’t had to interview for a long while. The new interviews went a lot better and I really thought something could come from it. Yesterday I heard back from the place and I got the job! I was so happy to hear back from them. Now I’m all set to start next week and couldn’t be happier.

How to Know If You’ll Make a Good Police Officer

Salary for Police Officers

Police officers are not considered the highest paid workers in the country, yet they risk their lives everyday to serve people and protect their territory. Of course all police officers who are newly recruited will earn less in the initial stages but are assured of regular pay rises as their rank increases.

The highest paid police officer is usually the Lateral Police Officer with an average salary of $63,000 per year. A new police cadet on average earns only $25,000. A police academy cadet can expect an average of $51,000 as can an Airport Police Officer.

Once a police officer has been active in the force for 5.5 years their salary has usually increased to around $60,000. Other allowances are also added onto the base salary including holiday pay and uniform allowance.

There are many options for career advancement when you are a police officer. The NYPD conducts promotional exams every two years for police officers. Once the exams are passed, officers can move on to the Lieutenant rank which pays as much as $100,000 per year. This can be a significantly fast advancement compared with other fields of work.

After 20 years of police service an officer is entitled to retirement benefits of around $46,000 per year. An officer will also receive medical benefits, deferred compensation plans and an annuity fund. The retirement benefits will depend largely upon the rank of the police officer.

The USA should stop being a manufacturing nation

Is Manufacturing The Answer To Fixing The USA Economy?  Should we concentrate our efforts in building more and better goods and then supplying the world with those great products?  Or should we drop manufacturing all together?

 In past decades the USA was a great consumer and producer.  The products manufactured in the USA were desired all over the world.  Should we be concentrating our efforts in finding the next big product that we can produce and export?  After all the USA has great equipment, wonderful innovation, top engineering and a superior labor force for manufacturing.

 Maybe we should focus on what products we can manufacture and export to countries like Mexico, China, Korea or India.  Let’s take cars as an example.  The USA could revamp the automotive industry and export inexpensive well built cars to every single country in the world.

 Can the USA make the best and most inexpensive cars in the world?  Can we beat German, Japanese, Korean and the up and coming Chinese cars?  Is our labor pool that much better that we pay $20 to $30 per hour for a fully loaded employee and compete with countries like Mexico that spend $2 to $3 per hour for a fully loaded employee complete with tax, insurance and social security?  Is our labor really 10 times better?

 How about other business expenses like rent, electricity, phone or water?  Are they more expensive or cheaper in other countries?

 How can all of this translate to costing and real hard cash?  Let’s just say we need to allocate 100 man hours of employee work into building our car.  In the USA the straight out labor cost would add up to $3,000 at $30 per hour with benefits, workers compensation, and employment taxes included in the calculation.  In Mexico the same car would cost $300.

 Yes, there are many variables to costs including fixed and variable.  Some big variables could be in the acquisition of raw materials or transportation of raw materials and finished products.  You also have to consider import and export tariffs for entering or leaving countries.  Taking just the labor costs as an example might not be fair.  Or is it?  Well, imagine having 1,000 employees at $3 per hour or the same for $30 per hour.  If you were the CEO, a member of the board or a stockholder in the company what would you do? 

 Is manufacturing better and cheaper products that we can sell all over the world the answer to our economic slowdown?  Or even the answer to the future of our economy?  Will this re-instate us as the dominating economic force in the world?

 Will holding high paying jobs in the USA make our products competitive around the USA?  Is building factories in a first world nation the answer in a world economy?  So far it’s not looking good for USA manufacturing.  We might be the best, but we’re not 10 times better than the rest.
